All year I’ve had my head in the clouds, and It’s cost me:
Time with my family.
Moments with friends.
Energy toward parenting.
Opportunities to make more money.
Even my own mental and physical health.
But every choice we make is a sacrifice.
You either make proper sacrifices—ones that take you on the upward path.
Or improper ones, those that lead to along easier, but downward path.
Honestly, I’ve struggled with guilt.
Should I have focused on being the best parent, husband, boss or entrepreneur?
Or was there something “higher“ worth sacrificing for?
Should I “chase my dream?”
Or settle for something more concrete?
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still been here.
For my daughter. For my wife. For my business. For myself.
(Because I’ve cut distractions).
But not fully.
Not like I could have been.
And that’s the weight of building something bigger than yourself.
That’s the weight of doing your best to bare the responsibility of the world on your shoulders.
And I’m not sure if there’s anything more meaningful than that.
To do that, to carry the weight of a vision – is to step into the fire of transformation.
